The Southend Business Partnership (SBP) is pleased to announce that the next SBP briefing will be face-to-face on 16th September.

Hosted at The Boundary within Southend’s Garon Park, the briefing consists of an hour-long marketplace networking session and a formal briefing, with guest speakers from the local business community.

Themed around ‘Think Global, Act Local’, this event will feature presentations on Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s work on the regeneration of Southend High Street, as well as the development of Totally Locally Southend-on-Sea, an online “high street” for local independent businesses. Also presenting at the briefing are Essex County Council, who will be discussing the South East Export Development (SEED) programme, which provides a range of free support services to help small businesses from the South East get into overseas markets. Essex Scientific Laboratory Supplies (ESSLAB) will also be sharing their story on how they became an “Export Champion”.

Selected organisations and funders including BEST Growth Hub, Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE), South East Business Boost (SEBB) and Totally Locally Southend-on-Sea will be exhibiting at the marketplace, providing attendees with the opportunity to network and to find out about business support offers in and around the borough of Southend-on-Sea.

Ian Gilbert, leader of the council said: “It is pleasing to once again see that the Southend Business Partnership briefing is able to take place face-to-face for attendees, after several briefings over the last 18 months were held online due to the pandemic. These events are a good opportunity for local businesspeople to network and to learn about some of the initiatives that are taking place across the South East. The theme of ‘Think Global, Act Local’ means that many interesting presentations will be delivered at this briefing.”

Free refreshment will be served on arrival from 7:30am and the briefing will conclude at 10:00am.
