There is less than one week left for residents to apply to the Council for their street party permit and road closure ahead of the long four-day bank holiday weekend celebration.

All applications for a Platinum Jubilee street party and road closure must be received by Friday 5 May. When filing out your application, please ensure that all necessary details have been entered to ensure that the application is valid.

Tandra Forster, executive director for adults and communities, said: “I think it’s wonderful that over the four-day bank holiday weekend, with so many communities will be gathering to celebrate this historic event.

“Street parties are a great opportunity for people to come together on special occasions, and as our Queen celebrates 70 years on the throne, I am pleased that the council is taking the initiative to make sure neighbourhoods celebrate in the best and safest way possible.

“I would urge anyone thinking of holding a street party to visit our website or get in touch for help and assistance, sooner rather than later.”

A full list of road closures will be published ahead of the weekend so residents who are planning to travel over that weekend can plan their route in advance.
