Internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, Stile Antico, perform at the Southchurch Plaza Centre on Friday 24 November.
Tickets are now on sale for their first ever performance in Southend, their programme “The Golden Renaissance” will include music by Allegri, Byrd, Vivaldi, Gibbons and more.
Stile Antico is firmly established as one of the world’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. Working without a conductor, the 12 members have thrilled audiences across four continents with their colourful and vibrant performances.
The group’s numerous recordings have earned many awards, they have featured on the BBC and Classic FM and they regularly perform in major international music festivals across the world.
The concert has been arranged by Southend-on-Sea City Council as the most recent event in their calendar of concerts.
Cllr Derek Jarvis, cabinet member for arts, culture, heritage, and leisure, said: “We are delighted to announce the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble Stile Antico will be performing at the Council Concert Series. The concerts give residents and visitors a special opportunity to experience world-renowned music without having to travel to the big concert halls of London and other major cities.
“This is not one to be missed and I would encourage residents to book their tickets early and enjoy the wonderful musical talents of Stile Antico in their first ever performance in our City.”
In addition to Southend, the group will be performing across the UK, Europe, and US over the coming months.
The concert takes place in the Plaza Centre, Southchurch Road, Southend-on-Sea, starting at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased online at Concert series or by phone on 01702 215011, Monday to Friday, during normal office hours. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the concert.
