Southend Youth Council

The Youth Council is fully supported and endorsed by the Southend Borough Council. It is open to all 11-19 year olds who go to secondary school or live in Southend. We meet monthly to discuss and act upon the topics that affect the lives of young people, particularly those living in Southend.

In fact Southend Borough Council and many other organisations view the Youth Council as an important forum for consulting with a representative group of young people and frequently attend our meetings.

Southend Youth Council was founded in 1951. Over the years many hundreds of young people have been involved and the photo on our header proudly includes past and present members.

Joining Southend Youth couldn't be any easier!

Just turn up at one of our meetings, fill in a form and then you're a fully-fledged member of SYC!

Southend Youth Council Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre. The next meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month.

There is not a meeting on Wednesday 1st April - the meeting has been moved forward to Wednesday 25th March so as not to clash with the Easter Holidays.
