Community Right to Challenge

The Community Right to Challenge (CRTC) was introduced by the Government on 27 June 2012 as part of the Localism Act 2011.

The Act enables voluntary and community groups, charities, parish councils and 2 or more council employees to apply to run council services.

If any of the above groups apply to run a council service we must consider the application and if accepted, conduct a procurement exercise for the service.

The challenging organisation and all other interested parties can respond to the procurement exercise.
