A 'H-bar' is a white painted road marking in the shape of a stretched 'H' that goes across a dropped kerb.
In the past these have been installed for residents who had problems accessing and exiting their driveways.
As H-bar markings are not legally enforceable, they don not work well anymore, and we will no longer install new H-bar markings.
If you have an existing H-Bar that has become very faded, please fill in our online form on MySouthend.
On the form:
- Choose the option 'road markings' and 'faded/worn/missing'.
- Use the further information textbox to say that it is for H-Bar relining.
We will inspect the H-Bar to see if it needs relining and you will be notified on MySouthend if your request will be actioned.
