In addition to the use of Southend Pass and making payment at the pay and display machines (where available), customers in the city can now choose to pay for parking with two different parking apps:
This increases the payment options in our car parks and at on-street parking bays. Both parking apps are available on the App Store and Google Play.
When using either of the parking apps, customers who would like to stay for a longer period than planned, can extend their parking time using their phones. This removes the need to walk back to the parking machine.
All pay and display areas and Council-owned car parks across the city now have these pay by phone options.
Once you register, you simply have to:
- input the location code or location name on the app
- ensure you input the correct vehicle registration number
Please note, there is a convenience fee that is payable to the provider for each payment transaction.
There are also charges applied if you select:
- the optional confirmation
- the reminder text messages option
You can opt out of these additional services within the parking apps.
