- Follow the progress of current applications (including key dates and status of applications)
- View documents associated with applications (including plans, supporting information, decision notices etc)
- Make a comment (see "Guide to Commenting on a Planning Application" in Related Downloads)

The information is extracted directly from the planning department's database in 'real time', which means all the data is available to you as soon as it is available to the planning officers.
Searching in PublicAccess
To be able to view and comment on planning applications online click here, read and then accept the terms and conditions. Once in PublicAccess you will be able to use the following options:
- 'Application Search'
Option to search by application reference number, type, date received, date validated or committee date (copies of the planning documents including application form and plans are available to view under Associated Documents tab).
- 'Appeal Search'
Option to search for appeal documents by reference number, type, status, date lodged or appeal decision.
- 'Property Search'
Option to search for a planning application or appeal by address (select property interested in, click on view details icon and details of any applications or appeals linked to the property will be available under the Related Info tab). Note: Only current addresses are shown and therefore planning history relating to historic addresses (i.e. buildings that have been demolished) is only available by entering a specific application reference number under 'Application Search' - contact us if you require further details.
- 'Application Weekly List'
To view details of all applications validated or decided within a specified week. Note: A list of applications sorted by date made valid may differ from the Weekly Lists published by the planning department, which lists all applications registered within a specified week.
If cases are to be considered by Development Control Committee then anyone who has commented on the application in writing will be notified of the date of the committee. A guide to Development Control Committee including public participation is available in Related Downloads. Officer reports and the committee agenda and minutes are also available online. For further information on the planning decision-making process see the Planning Portal.
The Planning department publishes a Weekly List of applications registered each week and this is available in our related downloads.
