A number of policies from the Local Plan, including the first and second alterations of the Local Plan, have been ‘saved’ and are used by the Council in the determination of planning applications. These policies will remain saved until they are replaced by more detailed Development Plan Documents and Area Action Plans.
The current ‘saved’ policies for Southend are as contained within: the Borough Local Plan (including the first and second alteration); Essex and Southend-on-Sea Replacement Structure Plan; Essex and Southend-on-Sea Waste Local Plan and the Essex Minerals Local Plan.
