Telecare

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Telecare aims to use technology to promote well-being, independence, safety and peace of mind in the home.

Telecare offers the promise of enabling thousands of older and disabled people to live independently, in control and with dignity.

Telecare is 'The continuous, automatic and remote monitoring of real time emergencies and lifestyle changes over time in order to manage the risks associated with independent living'.

Telecare is a service that uses high-tech devices to monitor and support older people, disabled people, and people with mental health issues to live independently within their own home.

Telecare offers peace of mind to families and carers: the people they care for get access to a 24-hour support service - making them safer than ever, with fast access to support in an emergency.
