What is Housing Assistance?
We can offer housing assistance, which are repayable loans for you to work on your property. The loans can be used to make improvements to your property, such as:
- supplying hot water for the first time
- repairs such as a new roof
- new damp-proof course
Do I qualify?
We aim to help properties in the poorest conditions and where the owner cannot fund the works themselves. To qualify, you will be financially means tested and you will need to qualify for at least one of the following:
- Income Support
- Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Income Based Jobseekers' Allowance
- Income-based Employment
- Support Allowance.
Please note: the Housing Assistance fund has a very limited budget but we try to keep the waiting list as short as possible.
