Statement on unauthorised encampment at Jones Memorial Recreation Ground.
Cllr Martin Terry, cabinet member for community safety, says: “We were made aware of an unauthorised encampment yesterday afternoon (Thursday 1 October), with officers acting swiftly to visit the site and issue the relevant notices to leave and undertake welfare checks as is necessary.
“I am aware that Essex Police visited the site this morning to issue a section 61 notice requiring the encampment to leave the site.”
