Cllr Daniel Cowan, Leader of the Council, has issued a statement on the tragic incident at London Southend Airport.
"Following the devastating incident at London Southend Airport, I want to extend my deepest condolences on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council to the families, friends, and colleagues of those who tragically lost their lives.
"This is a deeply saddening moment for our community, and our thoughts are with everyone affected. We are in close contact with our partners at Essex Police, London Southend Airport, and Rochford District Council, and we stand ready to offer any support that may be needed in the days ahead.
"Southend is a city that comes together in times of sorrow, and I know our residents will join me in offering compassion and solidarity to all those impacted by this tragedy."
