Hundreds of people came together last weekend to say a fond farewell to the Waddle-on-Sea penguin sculptures.

Organised by Havens Hospices, the Farewell Weekend gave art trail fans the chance to see all 103 penguins reunited at Ipeco in Rochford on 13 and 14 September, before they go under the hammer at the Grand Auction on 25 September.
Cllr Matt Dent, Cabinet Member for Business, Culture, Music and Tourism, said: "Waddle-on-Sea filled our city with colour, creativity and joy this summer. It has brought communities together, celebrated local talent, and raised money for Havens Hospices, a truly vital cause. This is civic pride in action, showcasing the very best of Southend.”
