Minister Steve Reed MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, visited the Better Queensway project site.
He was joined by Bayo Alaba MP, Member of Parliament for Southend East and Rochford, Southend-on-Sea City Council Leader Daniel Cowan, Deputy Leader Anne Jones, and the project team.
Better Queensway is a major regeneration scheme improving streets, pedestrian crossings, and public spaces. The project aims to make the area safer, greener, and easier to navigate, with upgraded roads, new walking and cycling routes, and enhanced public spaces to support future housing and community life.
Cllr Daniel Cowan, Leader of Southend-on-Sea City Council, said:
“Better Queensway is making our streets safer and greener for everyone. It was great to show the Minister the progress we've made and the difference it will make to local residents.”
