What is Anti-Social Behaviour?

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is a term which covers a wide range of issues. There are lots of definitions for ASB. It is normally seen as anything that can cause a disturbance or annoyance.

This type of behaviour includes:

  • untidy or dirty garden and home
  • dog fouling
  • uncontrolled and noisy pets
  • inconsiderate or dangerous parking and abandoned cars
  • noise nuisance at high levels or unreasonable hours
  • environmental health issues such as rubbish dumping
  • vandalism and graffiti
  • drug misuse
  • alcohol-related nuisance
  • prostitution
  • hate incidents motivated by peoples:
    • age
    • disability
    • faith
    • sexual orientation
    • race
  • harassment, including verbal and physical abuse and threats
  • acts of violence
