Fares and passes
For Older Person’s and Disabled Person’s Bus Passes please visit our bus passes pages.
Daily bus passes are available from all the bus companies and, in some cases, bus passes are available for longer periods as well.
The Octopus ticket enables travel on any local bus service in not only Southend, but also in Rochford and Castle Point districts as well - but is not valid on the X30, 68 (Open-Top bus service) or on certain Schoolday-only services.
Cheaper fares for trains
If you travel regularly you may be able to reduce the cost by using a Railcard. Disabled Persons Railcards, 16-25 Railcards, Family and Friends Railcard, Senior Railcard and Network Card are available. Further information on Railcards can be found on the National Railcards website.
Southend-on-Sea City Council is not part of the Senior Railcard subsidy and does not have promotional codes.
