Southend Careers Service is a free and friendly careers guidance service for people of all ages who live in Southend. We are here to help you explore your options and take your next steps into education, training, or employment.
We work closely with a range of local and national partners, including:

How we can support you
Our qualified Careers Advisers can offer you:
- 1-to-1 careers guidance appointment, either in person or online - whichever works best for you
- a personalised action plan to help you move forward
- help with writing your CV and cover letters
- job searching tips and up-to-date information about the local job market
- interview preparation and confidence-building techniques
- advice on choosing the right course, college, or training provider
- support with finding and applying for apprenticeships
- information about university and higher education
- invitations to careers events and fairs for specific groups

All our Careers Advisers are qualified to QCF Level 6 Diploma in Guidance and Development.
All our Careers Advisers are proud members of the Career Development Institute (CDI) - the UK's professional body for careers practitioners. This means our advisers follow a recognised code of ethics and stay up to date with best practice through ongoing professional development.
