London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games
The largest sporting event in the world is coming to Stratford, East London in the summer of 2012 - the Olympic Games that opens on 27th July and the Paralympic Games that opens on 29th August.
Southend Council is working with partners to deliver a legacy from the Games, The Council is a member of the Essex 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Legacy Partnership that was created and is now led by Essex County Council and has representation on the Essex Strategic Board for a legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
