Gully Cleaning

Gully Cleansing

Gully

A gully consists of a concrete pot positioned under the road surface with an iron grate visible from the road. The water collects in the concrete pot and is then channelled through a series of pipes before being connected into the main sewer network.

Sometimes these pipes and channels become blocked with soil, dead leaves and rubbish, preventing the free flow of water to the main sewer.

The Council cleans the gullies of all Council maintained highways and subway drainage systems.

To report a problem with a gully, please use the online form - Problems with Public Highways - at the right hand side of this page.

Alternatively you can e mail or telephone us, details are also on the right hand side of this page.
