On 6th April 2016 The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulation 2015 brought into force compulsory microchipping of all dogs. This means that all dogs over the age of 8 weeks must be microchipped and your details as the keeper registered with an authorised database company.

It will be a prosecutable offence under this regulation not to have your dog microchipped and not to have your contact details up to date.

For further information on getting your dog microchipped and any questions on the new legislation please contact the Animal Warden on 01702 215005.

We offer a microchipping service for dogs but unfortunately not for cats at the present time.

You can also have your cat or dog microchipped by your vet who may charge more. Either way, microchipping is strongly recommended.

Please note: even if your dog has been microchipped the law states that your dog must still wear a collar and identity tag in a public place. The tag should show your name and address.
