Grass cutting / strimming incidents
Time table for grass cutting on verges, parks and gardens/cliffs
Due to changing weather patterns in recent years the grass cutting window has extended beyond what was previously normal (late March to October). When conditions allow or grass growth dictates, the grass teams are usually starting their first cut at the beginning of March however for the last 3 seasons we have been still cutting certain areas in the town until November.
We aim for the grass cutting teams including tractors cutting open spaces to be completed every 15 working days. This is subject to change due to weather conditions and other external factors.
My property has been damaged as a result of grounds maintenance activity

Grass cutting and strimming operations are examples where small stones may be discharged from the machine. In the event that any damage is caused as a result of grounds maintenance operations, please complete the online form (including any photographic evidence) through MySouthend which can be found via the following link or alternatively you may phone 01702 215011 and choose the option for ‘Strimming Incidents’, or download the Public Liability Form – Strimming and return the completed form via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
