Council Land and Property
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s property ownership information is available via the Essex Property Asset Map.
The map is being added to all the time by other Essex local authorities and public bodies as part of a joint project to publish all public property ownership data in one easy to access place as part of our collaborative working on One Public Estate and related projects.
If you would like to find out if the Council owns a piece of land or property in Southend, this map is a good place to start.
If you are not sure or need further information, the Asset Management Team maintains a record of any property, owned or leased by Southend Council. This includes a collection of maps and records of properties that we have a legal interest in.
We can check to see whether we own a property. If we do, we can put you in touch with the team responsible for the property.
For land owned by, or in other local authority areas, please contact the relevant authority directly.
If we do not own the property and the map doesn’t answer your question, the next place to try is the Land Registry which holds national records of land ownership.
