Assisted collections

For residents who have difficulty moving their wheelie bins, sacks and containers to the edge of their property, we may be able to arrange for an easier collection point.

Eligibility is based on a case-by-case basis and you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • you are elderly or infirm
  • you have a certified short - or long-term medical condition
  • you are registered with a disability

and

There is no one else aged 16 or over living with you who could put the bins, sacks or containers out.

Please be aware your request will be reviewed by a Council Officer and our contractor, who may contact you further to discuss your application and/or presentation location.

Use our online form to:

  • request an assisted collection
  • request a change to an assisted collection
  • end an assisted collection

When collecting your recycling and non-recycling, we will not be able to enter your home. However, we can collect it from an agreed and convenient location outside your property.

Checks may be carried out to make sure that we only provide this service to residents who need it. Where we find the information provided to be incorrect, we may withdraw any approval of the assisted collection.
