If you produce a lot of household waste, please make sure you are recycling as much as possible, including your food waste.
If you find that the 180l bins provided do not meet your needs, you can apply for larger 240l bins if you meet any of the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria
Before you apply, you will need to check that you meet any of the following:
- households with six (6) or more permanent occupants
- households with 2 or more children in nappies or one or more adults using incontinence pads
- households with a medical need which results in large volumes of non-recyclable waste
- households with any other special requirements
Your household must be recycling everything that can be recycled using the Council services provided. You must also agree to ongoing monitoring of your bin use.
Monitoring may consist of:
- asking for extra information
- a check to see what recycling is being put out for collection
- crews may check the contents of your bins to make sure you are using the recycling and food waste services to its full extent and not putting recyclable waste in the black lid bin
We may reverse the decision if you are not complying with your recycling responsibilities and will remove large bins if needed.
We will review this decision every 2 years.
