Following a highly successful performance in Southend last year, The London Handel Players Duo return to the City on Friday 23 May, to present an evening of exquisite music for violin and harpsichord.

The London Handel Players is a world-class ensemble renowned for its interpretations of baroque chamber music. Comprising leading period instrument specialists, the group is closely associated with the music of George Frideric Handel and his contemporaries, bringing to life a rich and refined repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The ensemble performs regularly in Handel's Church, St George's Hanover Square and at the Handel House Museum and London's Wigmore Hall, in addition to regular recitals at festivals and concerts halls across the UK and Europe.
The evening's programme will feature a selection of works by JS Bach, Handel, Leclair, and other masters of the baroque era, offering audiences a chance to experience the elegance and vitality of music from this golden age.
Cllr Matt Dent, cabinet member for business, culture, music and tourism, said: "It's a real treat to welcome The London Handel Players Duo back to Southend as part of this year's Concert Series. Their talent and love for baroque music shine through in every performance, and it's a fantastic opportunity for both residents and visitors to enjoy world-class classical music right here on our doorstep. I'd really encourage everyone to come along for what promises to be a wonderful evening."
