Southend Council Concert Series - Acclaimed British pianist opens 2026 season with Civic Centre recital

Southend-on-Sea City Council is pleased to announce the opening concert of 2026 in its Concert Series, featuring distinguished British pianist and composer Neil Crossland.

Neil Crossland studied at London's Royal College of Music, earning top prizes in piano and composition. He has performed at major venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall, as well as internationally in France, Greece, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Tunisia and Singapore.

His extensive discography includes over twenty recordings on the Deltatel label, featuring the complete Beethoven piano sonatas and works by Haydn, Schumann, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Ravel and Poulenc. Among his notable achievements, Neil's Cello Concerto was premiered at the BBC Proms by Yo-Yo Ma.

For his Southend recital, Neil will present a varied programme of music by Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Chopin, Satie, alongside some of his own compositions.
