Collection
Each household can book one free bulky waste collection each 'Service Year'. The free bulky waste service consisting of up to 5 individual items or 1 combination item such as a three-piece suite and is subject to availability.
The first 'Service Year' will run for 5 months (October 28 2025 to March 31 2026). After this, there will be a service review. The annual free allocation will then run each 'Service Year' from April to March.
At the time of booking you have the option to:
- make a free booking or,
 - proceed to pay
 
If you choose to use your free slot, any other bookings made within the 'Service Year' will need to be paid for.
Free allocations are issued on a per property, per service year basis. If you believe there is an issue with your free allocation please contact us on 01702 215006.
Collection date slots are based on availability.
Collections take place on Monday to Saturday, except for:
- Christmas Day
 - Boxing Day
 - New Year's Day
 
Free bulky waste slots will be suspended for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. The dates of which will vary depending on when Christmas and New Year fall.
If the date you need is not available, this is due to all booking slots being filled. Availability will only show if:
- there is a booking slot available, or
 - an existing booking for that day has been cancelled
 
You will be able to book a collection date, but not an exact time during the day. Items must be:
- out for collection by 7am on the specified date of collection, and
 - made available for collection in line with these terms and conditions
 
We will collect your items at any time between 7am and 6pm on the collection date agreed during booking.
Furniture containing persistent organic pollutants (POPs) will be collected separately. This may mean two vehicles collecting your items at separate times.
