Who can be given a Community Protection Notice (CPN)?
- anyone aged 16 or older
- a business or organisation
If the person is 16 to 18 years old, we must talk to the Youth Offending Team first.
If a business gets issued a CPN, it must go to the person in charge. If the person cannot be found, the CPN will be issued to the business.
Parents cannot be issued CPN for the actions of their child, unless
- they help their child to do something wrong
- they encourage or support the child's anti-social behaviour
- as covered in Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014
