Ways to vote

You need to be registered to vote before you can vote in UK elections.

If you are eligible, you can vote:

  • in person - at a polling station
  • by post
  • by asking someone else to vote for you. (This is called a proxy vote)

You cannot vote online in any elections.

Once you are successfully registered to vote you will automatically be able to vote in person, however you will need to make a separate application to vote by post or by proxy.

If you're not sure if you're already registered use our online form to check or email elections@southend.gov.uk.
