To help you get used to the new system before you apply, we have created a step-by-step video guide. This shows you how to use the portal and what to expect.
Mainstream and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) (all ages). Please remember to provide evidence if applying based on low income.

We process applications as quickly as possible.
Awards are made from the date we receive the complete form and evidence.
Assistance is awarded for a set period or until reviewed. You need to reapply when an award ends.
We can review travel arrangements at any time and may offer a different, suitable, cost-effective option. If you refuse the new offer, assistance may be withdrawn.
We may check eligibility during the year.
Assistance awarded in error may be withdrawn, usually with notice.
Assistance awarded due to fraud will be withdrawn immediately. We may take legal action to recover costs.
