If you are a care leaver who is a parent or pregnant
Becoming a parent is a big change. We are here to help you and your child.
We can offer:
- a £50 postnatal payment after your baby is born
- donated clothes, baby equipment and other essential items
- a young parents' group at the leaving care home
- support to attend pregnancy and health appointments
- a Family Network Decision Making meeting to help build a support network
- help from your midwife, health visitor and other professionals
- information about local baby groups and children's centres
- help applying for benefits, such as the Sure Start Maternity Grant
- access to parenting courses and support groups
- support for fathers, including the Caring Dads Programme
- help understanding children's social care if your child has a social worker
