  • details of surveys undertaken (including how people travel to and from the site)
  • travel and transport issues
  • summary of the transport issues that need to be addressed by the travel plan aims and objectives
  • details of what the travel plan sets out to achieve
  • targets that are SMART:
    • specific
    • measurable
    • achievable
    • realistic
    • timed

An action plan

  • set short, medium and long term actions that will aid progress towards achieving the SMART targets
  • survey results and modal split data for interim travel plans (we accept Office for National Statistics data from the most recent National Census)
  • date the survey was taken or a breakdown of the different travel options used
  • survey of how people usually travel to the establishment
  • information on how the data has been calculated/the type of survey used, such as:
    • online
    • paper
    • hands up
  • a report on the numbers surveyed and how many responded
  • data should be as up to date as possible
  • how monitoring the success of the travel plan will be applied
