What happens if I don’t have photo ID?

If you do not have one of the acceptable forms of Photo ID listed you will be able to apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate.

To apply for a Voter Authority Certificate you will be asked for:

  1. Your registered voting address.
  2. A recent, digital photo of you.
  3. Your National Insurance Number.

If you have difficulty in taking a photo yourself, we can help you at one of our Voter ID drop-in sessions. Here we can also help you to fill in your application form.

Remember to bring your National Insurance number with you.
