Primary school admission 2024 (main round to reception and year 3, all other applications are called in-year)
National Offer day, when all parents that have applied receive the outcome for their application is 16 April 2024. Parents that applied online will be able to see their outcome from midnight on 16 April 2024 and will also be emailed the offer between 8 and 10am on 16 April 2024. Your home Local Authority is responsible for providing the outcome to your application and therefore Southend Admissions will be providing the outcome for Southend residents only. If you have questions regarding your offer we would encourage you to read through the frequently asked questions. A reminder that parents are not encouraged to contact the schools as this stage.
Parents without an email address or that are applying late (after 15 January 2024) can apply by emailing to us to request a paper application and email it back to admissions@southend.gov.uk or print and post to us.
If you have a child born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020, they are eligible for a school place from September 2024. You will find key dates and important information in the Primary Admissions Booklet 2024-25.
It is the responsibility of parents to apply for a school place at the correct times. You will not receive any letters from Southend-on-Sea City Council to inform you that you must apply for your childs school place however, early years settings and general marketing is in place to ensure parents are alerted.
Primary School Admissions to reception and year 3 at an Infant, Junior or Primary School are received and processed for all schools in the city by the School Admissions Team, Southend-on-Sea City Council for all residents in the city. Admissions during the school year are called In-year admissions. Application forms and further details about in-year admission should be made by selecting in-year admissions on this website.
