Registering with a GP

Ukrainian nationals can get emergency treatment from a GP for the first 14 days.

After this, they should register with a GP online.

Prescriptions

To get medicine, guests should:

  1. See their GP
  2. Take the prescription to a pharmacy

Some prescriptions may cost money.

Pharmacists can give free advice for minor problems such as coughs, colds, or pain.

Many pharmacies offer Pharmacy First; this means help without seeing a GP first.

Dental care

Guests can register with an NHS or private dentist.

Find a dentist on the NHS website.

If a guest gets Universal Credit, they should tell the dentist. NHS check-ups and necessary treatment will be free, conditions may apply.

Pregnancy and maternity care

A GP can arrange maternity and midwife care.

The NHS has health guides in Ukrainian and Russian on their website.
