Get involved

There are several ways to get involved in the council and local community. These include face-to-face meetings and workshops, telephone, email and via our website and social media.

Contact your councillor to find out how you can share your ideas or concerns. You can ask if they hold surgeries in their ward. Your councillor represents you. They have regular contact with the public through council meetings, telephone calls or surgeries. Surgeries provide an opportunity for any ward resident to talk to their councillor face-to-face.

Your Say Southend is where you can get involved in local discussions and consultations. Have your say and feedback. Please share your ideas and influence decisions that matter to you.

If you are interested in getting involved in the community check out Livewell Southend and the Community Directory run by SAVS (Southend Association of Voluntary Services). You can find hundreds of active groups and projects that might need help to continue to make our city a better place for everyone.

If you are a young person and want to influence the work of the council, please email youthvoice@southend.gov.uk
