Assisted collection and other services
I get an assisted collection. Will that continue?
If you have a disability or medical condition and there is nobody else in your household who can help you put out your sacks or wheelie bins, you may be eligible for an assisted collection. SUEZ may visit to assess your needs.
SUEZ will not be able to enter your home to collect sacks or bins, but they can collect it from a more convenient place outside your property.
Apply online or phone Customer Services 01702 215006.
If you already have assisted collection service in place you do not need to re-apply.

Christmas collections
Our revised collections page will be updated closer to Christmas. We recommend residents consider using the resident app that will have up to date information on any collection day changes.
Businesses operating from residential properties
Recycling and waste bins are only provided to properties for the collection of household waste (this is waste that is produced by the household on a day to day basis). We have a responsibility to collect household recycling and waste.
If businesses are operated from a normal property and waste is generated through that business activity the waste would be considered 'Commercial Waste'. The business itself has a legal responsibility (called the "Duty of Care") for managing and disposing of this waste, we have no obligation to collect it. We can request details and evidence of a businesses arrangements and it is an offence not to provide this when requested. More information can be found on our commercial waste page.
Southend Waste App
A resident waste app is now available. If you have a smart phone it takes a few moments to sign up for the app, which can then send you reminders about which bins need to go out that week as well as being able to check what you can recycle.
