Car park and on-street parking charges

Caravan, campervan and motorhome parking

We do not operate any dedicated parking areas for caravans, campervans, or motorhomes.

Overnight stays are not allowed.

Sleeping or camping overnight is strictly not allowed in any council car park or on-street parking bay.

Parking

Motorhomes and similar vehicles may park during the day in any of our council car parks or on street bays, as long as they comply with the terms and conditions which are shown on the signs within the car park.

Please note:

  • there are no designated parking bays for larger vehicles such as motorhomes or caravans
  • you must use standard parking bays and pay for every bay your vehicle occupies. For example, if your vehicle takes up 2 bays, you must purchase 2 parking sessions
  • you are able to park in disabled bays if you are displaying a valid Blue Badge but as a courtesy please only use one parking bay
  • do not use reserved, permit-only, or other restricted bays unless you have the relevant permission

Sleeping or camping overnight is strictly not allowed.

Facilities

We do not provide facilities for servicing motorhomes. This includes:

  • water supply
  • waste disposal
  • toilet cassette emptying
  • refuse bins for domestic waste

Please do not use public toilets to empty waste containers/toilet cassettes. This causes blockages and maintenance issues, resulting in temporary closures and additional costs to us.

Respect for local areas

Most visitors to the city of Southend are respectful and follow local bylaws that do not allow overnight camping. However, if issues with unauthorised or unlawful overnight stays happen, we will work with the police to take enforcement action where necessary.
