What happens if I do not respond to a canvass communication?
If you receive a canvass email or text message, please respond. This will ensure a form is not sent to your address.
If you receive a form in the post, please read it carefully to see if a response is required.
If you do not respond to a canvass communication and a response is required, we may arrange for a canvasser to visit your property.
Canvasser visits to your property
All canvassers will:
- have a Southend-on-Sea City Council ID card
- ask you to confirm your household details
If you haven't yet responded to a canvass communication but you still have the form, you can avoid a visit by:
- responding to the canvass communication using the online service
- amending the form and returning it to the address provided on your form
